Abstract

Linked data disrupts the current practices of places of knowledge. It generates new uses related to the enhancement of the digital resources of such places of knowledge, especially those of libraries. So far available through Online Public Access Catalogues, these resources are being revisited by the technologies of linked data. The major purpose of this article is to demonstrate the impact of linked data on library service provision through the analysis of a case study. This case study is based on the analysis of two increased records of « data.bnf.fr » and compared to equivalent studies dealing with the general catalogue. The target of this comparison is to illustrate the manner in which the National Library of France appropriates and integrates techniques and practices of linked data in order to improve its offer of service on the web.
