Quindici anni di AIDA

Abstract

In 2017 AIDA, the Italian Association for Advanced Documentation ceased its activity. Founded in 1983, AIDA has developed theoretical approaches and methodologies in the field of Information & Documentation and Library and Information Science, representing many kinds of professionals acting in several contexts. The conclusion of AIDA activities occurs at the end of a historical phase in the development of Library and Information Science in Italy and pushes the need for a new approach, on both the theoretical and operational side. Focusing on the years after 2000, this article describes the methodological framework of AIDA, its most important results, the strengths and the weaknesses of this experience.
