Abstract

This paper aims to present a multilingual database, whose cards mainly focus on the innovative eating practices of vegetarianism and veganism, as well as on the many recent variations emerged over the years which have triggered continuous neological processes. This product is grounded in the results of a previous work that, not only does show a considerable instability of the designations associated with these practices in real communication, but also a significant vagueness of the definitions found in both lexicographical and authentic resources. The success achieved by the practices of veganism and vegetarianism has also led to the development of marks, certifications and regulations, both national and international, that guarantee the related consumer class the products’ compliance with certain ideological standards: this phenomenon has therefore urged a standardization process of concepts and designations that we have tried to develop from an inter-linguistic perspective.
