Online communication about Covid-19. Common terminological choices for official public statistics

Abstract

This paper focuses on common terminology and shared communication styles by eurostat and the National statistics Institutes (nsis). The investigation field is limited to the sections devoted to covid–19 pandemic outbreak. The case study starts by analizing eurostat covid–19 section and then passes to the nsis sections, a specific focus is given to istat covid–19 section. The English edition of the webpages is analyzed so as to guarantee comparability. Similar structures and shared terminology will be evident.
