Abstract

In the last few years the Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Epidemiology and Hygiene of the Italian Workers’ Compensation Authority (inail) started some projects aimed at promoting the heritage of knowledge on occupational safety and health through the systematisation of historical sources from different archives. A significant part of these projects is the construction of some repositories where different documentary sources have been deposited: congress proceedings, the entire archive of the trade union movement, magazines and specialized publications in the sector, essays and scientific contributions. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the importance of using gray literature for the study of the evolution of occupational health during the xx Century and underline the importance of using a tool such as the repository for the promotion of historical sources.
