Abstract

Digital preservation is a complex topic: it includes several matters to discuss, in order to achieve the goal of an appropriate long-term preservation. The context to deal with is heterogeneous, because archive producers can be institutions, government bodies, physical or juridical people and issues are wider if they also need to preserve specific features of documents. This variety is greatly represented by participants, speakers and lecturers at the conference ipres, one of the world’s most important events on digital preservation. They express different points of view on which are the best preservation planning strategies, which are the most useful standards, what is worth preserving and how, who is responsible for preservation systems implementation and how people involved in this process should cooperate to optimize results. In this paper, we will see some of the most interesting theories and thoughts on these themes presented at iPRES 2019.
