AIDAinformazioni was founded in 1983 as the official journal of the Associazione Italiana per la Documentazione Avanzata and in February 2014 the journal was acquired by the Laboratory of Documentation of the University of Calabria and continues to be published half-yearly.

AIDAinformazioni aims at promoting interdisciplinary studies along with cooperation and dialogue among professional profiles with different but interlinked competences. Articles address theoretical issues, methodologies adopted and results obtained in research or project activities, the development of original and innovative methodological approaches, state-of-the-art analyses, etc.
Concerning publication ethics, AIDAinformazioni refers to the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Guidelines.
Focus and scope
AIDAinformazioni publishes original articles concerning Information Science, Documentation Science, Archival Studies, Records Management, and Kowledge Organization. It extends its interest to related disciplines such as Terminology, Computational Linguistics, Textual Statistics, etc.
Peer review process
Articles will be evaluated using the double-blind peer review system: the articles received will be anonymously sent to two reviewers, selected among the members of the scientific committee or among national and international scholars, on the basis of their experience and expertise in the field related to the article under review.
Referees must choose one of the following recommendations: accept submission; revison required (minor revisions are requested, the revised paper will be accepted without further review by external reviewers); resubmit for review (major revisions are requested, the paper will be subject to further review); decline submission. In the case of conflicting reviews from the two referees, the article will be sent to a third referee.
Articles will be evaluated based on:

- Originality
- Completeness and coherence
- Knowledge of the literature
- Quality of the research
- Implications and innovation for research in the field of Information Science
- Relevance to the journal topics
Authors will receive notification of acceptance along with the completed referee forms. Authors must track any changes made based on the referees' suggestions and submit the camera-ready version of accepted article in MS-Word format, adhering to the editorial guidelines.
If the accepted article exceeds the maximum number allowed for publication in the journal, it may be published in the following issue. In this case, and/or if there is a delay in the expected publication timeline, the author may decide to withdraw the submitted manuscript.

Publishing frequency
AIDAinformazioni is a semi-annual journal, with issues published in June and December.
