Publication ethics

AIDAinformazioni is a double-blind peer reviewed scientific journal which follows the publication ethic statements of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors (http://publicationethics.org/resources/guidelines).

All parties involved in the publishing process – author, journal editor, peer reviewers and publisher – have to be aware of and agree with the journal’s ethical standards.

Duties of Editors

Publication decisions

The Editorial Board preliminarily checks the relevance of the submitted article to the journal's topics and is responsible for publishing the articles, after reading and considering the reviewers’ comments.

Fair Play

The Editorial Board ensures impartiality, fairness, and timeliness in the selection of reviewers. The review process typically follows the guidelines set by the journal's editorial policies, and any changes are promptly communicated.

Manuscripts are evaluated uniquely for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnic group, nationality, religious or political belief.

The Editorial Board adheres to regulations regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.

The Journal provides guidelines and a checklist for authors regarding the technical preparation of the submission.

Confidentiality and disclosure of information

No member of the Editorial Board may share any information regarding the submitted articles with external parties. The only individuals with whom such information may be shared are the author(s), the reviewers, other members of the Editorial Board, and the Publisher.

The unpublished material contained in a submitted manuscript is not used by any member of the Editorial Board without the manifest and written consent of the author.

Duties of Reviewers

Competence and Timeliness

The reviewer who feels they are not competent enough to evaluate a specific manuscript, or who knows they cannot complete the review within the required timeframe, or who can identify the author(s) of the paper from its content and detects a potential conflict of interest, is required to promptly inform the Editorial Board.

Confidentiality

Submitted manuscripts must be treated as confidential documents and reviewers must not discuss the contents with third parties, except as authorized by the editor.

Standards of Objectivity

Reviews must be conducted objectively. Reviewers should express their views clearly and support their assessments with valid arguments.

Acknowledgement of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Reviewers should also inform the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap between the submitted manuscript and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

Reviewers must treat any information or ideas obtained through peer review as confidential and not use it for personal advantage.

Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.

Duties of Authors

Authors may be required to provide, along with the  manuscript text, the data used in the research, to grant public access to such data, and to store them for a reasonable period of time after publication.

Originality and Plagiarism

Authorship of the article

Authors must explicitly acknowledge the contribution of other individuals who have significantly participated in certain phases of the research.

The author submitting the article for publication must ensure that all co-authors are properly listed, have read and approved the final version of the article, and have agreed to its submission for  publication in AIDAinformazioni.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

All authors must explicitly declare any significant conflicts of interest that could influence the research results or the interpretation of the data. Authors must also indicate any funding sources for the research and/or project.
