Rappresentatività e copertura semantica dei KOS

Abstract

In this paper we deal with the issue of kos representativeness, considered within the more general problem of their quality assurance. In particular, we present the methodological approach used to validate the semantic coverage of a thesaurus, starting from the assumption that the original corpus used for its construction could change. The corpus contains the projects available from the cordis portal, which is updated each semester, thus requiring the consequent updating of the thesaurus. The activities have been carried on in the field of the Start(h)open project, aimed at creating an innovative platform that would provide start–uppers belonging to the ict domain with information coming from dierent sources and useful to test the economic and financial feasibility of their business idea. One of the aims of the project was the construction of a thesaurus in the ict/digital domain to be integrated in the platform for supporting information retrieval.
